Program Overview

As a music education student, you will study music theory, composition, conducting, music history, and various forms of music from around the world. In addition to classroom learning, you will are required to maintain and enhance your own nstrumental skills by participating in an ensemble of your choice each semester. Another key part of the program is developing your own teaching strategies and practices to effectively educate K-12 students. 

Students who desire licensure in another state must contact their state department of education for details about whether or not this coursework will meet state requirements.
